Eric Morgan
"A lawyer who understands that legal strategy and business outcomes must work hand in hand to deliver strategic dispute resolution representation and corporate governance advice that protects your interests."

Complex business challenges don’t resolve themselves – they require strategic advice and advocacy.

Eric brings together seasoned dispute resolution skills and deep corporate governance expertise to advise and help businesses navigate their most challenging issues. Whether resolving business disputes or advising boards through governance challenges, he focuses on solutions that protect both legal interests and business relationships.

Eric handles significant, complex conflicts involving corporate governance, director and officer liability, commercial, and shareholder claims. He’s appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, courts across multiple provinces, and in numerous arbitrations and mediations, consistently delivering results when the stakes are highest.

His dispute resolution expertise extends beyond traditional litigation. As an experienced arbitrator appointed by parties, courts, and institutions in over a dozen domestic and international proceedings, Eric understands conflicts from multiple perspectives. He was appointed to the inaugural NextGen Roster of Arbitrators at Arbitration Place and the Vancouver International Arbitration Centre’s panel of arbitrators.

Eric also maintains a complementary corporate governance advisory practice that involves advising on proxy contests, conflicts of interest, director duties, governance design, and subsidiary governance issues. He works with businesses, directors, and management to build governance frameworks that create effective decision-making and prevent disputes.

Eric previously practiced in the national litigation department at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, was a partner at a boutique Toronto firm, and brings additional experience from working at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London and teaching at the University of Oxford.
