Accessibility Policy

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing accessible and inclusive services to all persons, including those with disabilities. We comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, ensuring equal access to our legal services in a way that respects dignity and independence.

Scope

This policy applies to all partners, employees, students, contractors, and third-party service providers.

Accessible Services

We communicate with people with disabilities in ways that accommodate their individual needs. Upon request, we provide information in accessible formats including large print and electronic formats at no additional cost. You are welcome to use assistive devices, bring service animals, or be accompanied by a support person when accessing our services. Our staff is trained to work with assistive devices and interact appropriately with service animals and support persons.

Temporary Disruptions

If facilities or services for people with disabilities are temporarily unavailable, we will promptly post a notice at our office entrance and on our website, including the reason, expected duration, and available alternatives. Affected clients will be contacted directly when possible.

Training

All staff receive training on accessible services, interacting with people with disabilities, using assistive devices, and our accessibility policies. Training is provided upon hiring and when policies change. We maintain training records.

Employment

We provide accommodation throughout recruitment, hiring, and employment. Individual selected for interviews are notified that accommodations are available, and successful applicants are informed of our accommodation policies. We provide individualized workplace accommodations, maintain confidentiality, and consider accessibility needs in performance management and career development. We have return-to-work processes for employees with disabilities and provide individualized emergency response information when necessary.

Feedback

We welcome feedback on our accessibility policy and practices. We will respond within 30 days and use feedback to improve our practices.
